Protocol
Privacy Policy
Protocol is a local-first etiquette and events guide for iPhone. This page explains what the app stores, what may sync through your private iCloud account, and the narrow analytics used to keep the app improving.
What Protocol stores
Protocol can store saved items, custom occasions, season planner notes, checklist items, and reminder preferences on your device so the app remains available offline.
If iCloud is available, this personal data may sync through your private CloudKit database so it can appear on your other Apple devices signed into the same account. This sync is eventual rather than instant.
Analytics
Protocol uses TelemetryDeck for lightweight product analytics. This is intended to match the App Privacy details disclosed in App Store Connect.
- Collected for analytics only: Product Interaction and Device ID
- Not linked to your identity
- Not used for tracking
- No ad network SDKs and no ATT prompt
Editorial content delivery
Occasion briefings and related editorial updates can refresh from Protocol's CloudKit public database. Fetched content is validated before use, and the app falls back to the last valid or bundled content if refresh or validation fails.
Notifications and email
Reminder notifications are scheduled only when you ask for them. If you contact support, the message and device details you choose to include are sent through your mail app.
